Pedro Tagliani was co-founder, guitarist, composer and arranger of the brazilian jazz-group ”raiz de pedra”. Since 1993 he lives and works in Europe. His latest CD ”Arvoredo”, another milestone, is resulting from the fruitful co-operation with the renowned Austrian saxophonist Thomas Kugi.

All of the tracks on The Heart of the Acoustic Guitar are written by Degryse and show the three decades that he has been playing the guitar on a professional scale.

This CD is the second step in the realization of a dream the leader had a few years ago. Mastering jazz for two decades, and deeply in love with the sound of the acoustic steel-string guitar, he decided that the technology of amplifying acoustic guitar was finally mature enough to give a try to a trio with this guitar sound together with upright bass and drums.

Lydian Label are very proud to announce the release of their first album, from the talent that is Laszlo (aka Aaron Wheeler). Each of the singles and EP releases taken from the album so far ‘NRV’, ‘Mr Sunshine’ and ‘Satori’ have drummed up an array of support from many parts of the world. Nothing really does these tracks justice until you hear them in the context of the album though, with each track leading into and complimenting one another sublimely.

Laszlo is contemporary and alternative, but still truly listenable. It is a fusion of influences from electronica, jazz and ambient music. These compositions bring together well thought out instrumentation and use of modal techniques, combining organic elements and electronic textures to outstanding effect.

‘Satori’ is a display of Laszlo’s immense enthusiasm for the fusion of sound and textures, using primarily a diverse mixture of organic instruments such as piano, mandolin, flute (brilliantly played by the artist, Harmony) and vocal, blended with distinctive broken percussion and intelligent use of electronics.

The new CD, “Merge”, follows in the footsteps of the CGQ’s “Soul and Science: Volume One” and “Soul and Science 2: Electric Boogaloo”. The track list for Merge includes a healthy serving of Greene’s original compositions, as well as a tune by pianist Espinosa, jazz standards by Billy Strayhorn and Johnny Green, and one tune each by Madonna and The Black-Eyed Peas.
