Del Vezeau

I grew up in Hubbards, Nova Scotia; a small town deeply rooted in the fishing industry during its transformation into a resort/bedroom community. As both my parents originally hailed from Ontario, I saw myself more as a tourist than I did a resident. New Years Day 1990, I move to Toronto and aquainted myself with the rock scene before I met my wife Pam, took root in Kingston for ten years before finally settling into the small hamlet of Odessa.

My father, a well-known bluegrass musician on the East coast, gave me my first guitar when I was seven. While the collective memories of all involved are somewhat vague as to how it occurred, the guitar ended up in small pieces shortly thereafter. My father tried again when I was eleven and the instrument took hold. Having my father teach me bluegrass standards was a great thing in retrospect. I did not stay in that mode for long but the precepts have never left me.

Focusing on the progressive rock music of bands such as Yes, Frank Zappa and Pink Floyd often meant the utter reliance on other members to forge out the parts necessary to achieve 'the sound'. It was during the quiet moments that the acoustic guitar took on a new appreciation for me and I soon realized that this would be my path. The 'path' was of course a hobby and one that floated atop a time line that would not take first place to other endeavors until the release of my debut CD 'Paradigm' in 1999.

Two years later I left the software business and decided to venture into music full time, both as an artist, agent and promoter. I have toured in places as far away as Guatemala, and the U.K. The latest album "Irregular Pulse" was recorded by guitar guru Don Ross and was released in May of 2004. The last song on the disk titled "It Happens" is a trance-like vocal work that is consistent with the last song on my first disk, in as much as the tail can point to the head for the next release...'oh gawd...he's gonna sing!'

Del Vezeau: Irregular Pulse

Solo Acoustic Guitar

Del Vezeau made this album together with Don Ross, who produced and recorded this album. The first track on Irregular Pulse is called August to October and Del Vezeau really captures a listener in first class melody line building and in a melancholic, expressive melody. You can hear well, Del played a lot of Spanish guitar music as he plays expressive and emotional guitar music. Emotion I see as the basic of music and this is what Del is a master in producing such a atmosphere. - Henk te Veldhuis, Bridge Guitar Reviews
