The guitarist Ignacio Fernandez was born in Jerez de la Frontera and began playing guitar at the age of 11. He was a student of the music Academy of J.L. Balao and M. Carbonero. In 1992 he won first prize in a national guitar competition in Jerez. He has collaborated on many recordings and has worked with several flamenco companies, pop-rock groups and musicians from classical and jazz. He currently resides in Tenerife where he works as a guitarist, composer and arranger. In October 2008, Fernandez launched his first solo album "Buscare", on CM Records. In October 2009, at the Krakow New World Festival, he released a work for guitar and orchestra entitled "Madre Tierra." In May 2011, he released his second album "Conjuro". Fernandez is a regular contributor to the magazine "Chitarra", the most regarded music magazine in Italy.
