The International Guitar Night (IGN) is the world's premier touring guitar festival. Each show brings together the most interesting and innovative acoustic guitarists to exchange musical ideas in a public concert setting. Each tour, IGN founder Brian Gore invites a new cast of guitar luminaries to join him for special evenings of solos, duets and quartets that highlight the virtuosity and diversity within the world of acoustic guitar. This is the second in a series of live recordings from International Guitar Night's annual North American tours. Brian Gore is a melodic fingerstyle guitarist, author, and impresario from San Francisco. He founded International Guitar Night in the 1990's, and has overseen its expansion. D'Gary is a renowned guitarist from Antananarivo, Madagascar, who burst on the World Music scene with a recording made by David Lindley and Henry Kaiser. His complex, percussive style and plaintive singing are based on traditional Malagasy music. Miguel de la Bastide, a native of Trinidad, studied Flamenco extensively in Spain. He now lives in Toronto, where he is the musical director of the Compañia Carmen Romero dance troupe and featured solo guitarist of his own Flamenco musical ensemble. Clive Carroll of Essex, England, comes from a gifted family of musicians and instrument makers. He was introduced to American audiences touring with guitar master Tommy Emmanuel.
Each year, International Guitar Night (IGN) founder Brian Gore invites three of the world's finest acoustic guitarists for a special North American tour. This "live" recording captures the excitement and originality of the first IGN troupe to tour across Canada. Featuring Peppino D'Agostino, Antoine Dufour, Brian Gore, and Andrew White.
