Jordan O'Connor : Fragments Vol. One

‘Fragments’ was released in 2001 as a follow up to bassist Jordan O’Connor’s first CD. The CD features fellow Cash Cow companion and friend, pianist Craig Harley, and new comer to the band (Cash Cow) David French; as well as the extremely talented drummer Jesse Baird and the always lyrical Bryden Baird.

Some highlights on the CD are ‘The Dream (Angela Rose)” a passionate cinematic piece, starting with one note and slowing building to an ecstatic climax. “The Last Days (of my life)” a ballad dedicated to his mother, which features Bryden Baird on Fugal, as he floats wonderfully through the tune.

Jordan continues to explore the tonal and musical worlds that have always been present in his life. “I think there is a tonal world within each of us, culturally, personally. What we experience within can be touched with song and sound. This is how we emotionally express ourselves through music: we find the melody and rhythm that connects us to our feelings; whether they are memories of joy, or sorrow. This relationship – this internal meeting – is something we can explore within ourselves and as such, each new composition, each new song, is a trip within this inner world.’

Jordan O’Connor is currently freelancing in Toronto, Canada, playing with such musicians as Don Ross and Louis Simão as well as composing for film and theatre. Jordan will also be recording the next Cash Cow CD in February of 2006.
