A live performance (2 Disc Set - CD/DVD) by Italian guitarist, Pino Forastiere. Filmed in late-2008; the performance is both beautiful and technically stunning at the same time.
Italian guitarist, Pino Forastiere is a remarkable virtuoso. His techniques and musical ideas are a true mix of acoustic and classical guitar styles.
"The music is something like a mix of Steve Reich’s interlocking rhythmic patterns meet Michael Hedges’s techniques, all while admiring Eddie van Halen..." John Schaefer - WNYC Radio - New York City
"Like Hedges, Forastiere employes a dazzling blend of slapping, tapping, strumming, altered tunings and harmonics. However, he also combines those elements with classical phrasing and a focus on distinct and addictive melodies." Anil Prasad, Guitar Player
Solo Acoustic Guitar & Trio
From 1 to 8 is a collection of eight beautiful new compositions for contemporary acoustic guitar. Or - depending on who's listening - it's a collection of eight study etudes for guitarists, focusing on composition, deep musicality and intricate technique.
Acoustic Guitar Trio
Guitar Republic is the new solo-duo-trio concert by Sergio Altamura, Stefano Barone and Pino Forastiere: music in the widest sound spectrum you may imagine, from the pure acoustic guitar sound to experimental electronics. Rock, improvisation, minimalism, mediterranean colors and rhythms are performed on the same stage by three different citizens of the same Guitar Republic.
Solo Guitar
Italian guitarist, Pino Forastiere is a remarkable virtuoso. His techniques and musical ideas are a true mix of acoustic and classical guitar styles. "Why Not?" is his third solo release and is the most bold in terms of style and composition.
Solo Guitar
“Circolare” is a thought of togertherness in the future tense, not only in music: the rhythm of Mediterranean popular dances fuses with certain dissonances, algid at times, coming from European contemporary and minimalist production; South American beat merges into Blues, and all is mixed up in an alchemy. The guitar execution gives an effect of orchestration, thanks to the use of alternative tunings and techniques: all the tracks were recorded live, without overdubbing.
Solo Guitar (Italy Import)
“A gifted new acoustic guitarist making waves out of Italy, Forastiere... recorded without overdubs or special effects, Rag Tap Boom is a fitting showcase for Forastiere’s superb acoustic guitar work.” Robert Silverstein – 20th Century Guitar
