Ross Hunter and Owen van-Larkins are The Express.
These two incredibly talented and gifted young musicians met in 2002 while
studying music at Southbank TAFE in Brisbane and soon afterwards began writing
and performing their own unique brand of Celtic, Folk and Spanish flavoured
acoustic guitar music
From their early compositions it was clear an
extraordinary new talent had arrived on the Australian music scene. The Express,
named after the train on which they wrote their early pieces, spent 3 years
writing and recording demos and several of the tracks featured on these early
CDs would be later developed to feature on their first album.
Recorded in 2007 at Pix Records in Conondale, their self titled album was launched to a very appreciative audience in Montville on December 14th 2007 and shortly afterwards The Express captivated audiences in their three performances at their first Woodford Folk Festival.
