"Upright & Locked Position" is Don Ross's 14th solo recording. The tracks on "Upright & Locked Position" are more melodic than some of his most recent groove based compositions. For fans of Don's early recordings, this CD will come as a welcome surprise.

Breakfast for Dogs is Don Ross's first all-solo-guitar record in years (namely since Passion Session in 1999). "I decided just to record whatever the heck I felt like doing for this one, bit by bit over the course of several months in 2010. Hence the album title. I think of the CD as a bit of a "dog's breakfast," in that there's no particular theme that binds the tunes"

The new cd includes duets versions of five familiar tunes composed by each guitarist, two duet arrangements of compositions by Russell Ferrante and Mike Marshall, and two solo tracks by each of Don and Andy for a total of 11 great performances.

Solo Acoustic Guitar

Don's Passion Session CD, recorded in Berlin's Passionskirche, was released in March 1999 on Narada/Virgin Records. The recording brings Don back to his roots as a solo fingerstyle guitarist, as he produces his first totally solo album ever for Narada's Masters of Acoustic Guitar series. Don got the news of the offer of a new contract with Narada while on tour in Germany in November 1998. The planned release date for his first CD for the company was so soon that he decided to team up with his recording engineer friend Knut Becker right away and record the album straight to two-track digital through a Schoeps stereo microphone in the acoustically perfect confines of the Passionskirche (The Church of the Passion) in Berlin's funky Kreuzberg neighbourhood.

This DVD, shot by Bernard Leroux, was made near the beginning of a tour in November 2006 at the beautiful Glenn Gould Studio in downtown Toronto. It was a pleasure to be on the road again with Michael Manring, and to be introducing Andy McKee to my audience. Instrumental Acoustic

 Loaded. Leather. Moonroof., released in November, 1997. The album "...is a further exploration for a rich sense of harmony and groove," according to Don. The CD treats Don's listeners to a compilation of diverse sounds that reflects his influence by all types of music. On this album, Don passionately plays the six-string and seven-string guitars as well as the dobro. He is often accompanied by several other musicians whom all add their specialty.

Instrumental Acoustic

In the fall of 1996 Don released Wintertide, an instrumental album of traditional Christmas tunes played in his trademark style. Lynn Saxberg of the Ottawa Citizen called the CD a "masterpiece," and the public response was no less enthusiastic.

Instrumental Acoustic with some Vocals

 Originally realeased in 1992, Three Hands is mostly solo fingerstyle CD with a few songs with vocals and other various instruments. Track eight "Kehewin" means "Eagle" and the song does soar with a fiery groove. Other long time favorites such as "Big Buck" and "Three Hands" are on this CD.

Solo Acoustic Guitar

Released in 1990, Don's second solo release, included original versions of some of his most popular songs. The song August on the Island is one of Don's most traditional fingerstyle pieces he has ever recorded. The CD met with unanimous critical acclaim and numerous tours across Canada and the U.S.

In addition to his solo Don Ross's solo career, he performed with the soprano Kelly McGowan (his wife, d 2001), first in 1986-7 as a duo and then, with the violinist Oliver Schroer added, as the Harbord Trio (In from the Cold from 1987 and Harbord Trio from 1990).
