From the Music Without Words CD liner notes;
I play music because I need to. I also play music because it expresses that which words so often cannot. A good deal of the music I listen to has no words, and though I’ve written a handful of songs with lyrics, most of what I play and write also has no words.
When I look at these songs individually, I can only conclude that each is in some way a reflection of what was happening in my life at the time it was written, and more often than not, of the places that I’ve called home over the last 10 years – the landscapes of Santa Fe and northern New Mexico, southern Colorado, Hawaii, the Pacific Northwest, the green mountains of Vermont, and my childhood- and current home on the outer reaches of Cape Cod.
