The Reign of Kindo

Rare is it to find modern music that pinpoints the middle ground between a respect for past greats and a boldness to pave tomorrow. This is, quite modestly, the definition of The Reign of Kindo. Citing influences from Dave Brubeck to Ben Folds to Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto to John Mayer, there's not a degree of pomposity in this sound, just an honesty in the group's craft to blend such diverse influences into an identity so refreshing, unique, and universally personable.

The band formed in late 2006 from the remaining members of This Day & Age, adding a new member, Jeffrey Jarvis. On August 21, 2007, the band released their first record, an EP entitled simply The Reign of Kindo EP. The EP was a regional sales success, reaching #5 on the Billboard Middle Atlantic Heatseekers chart. In January 2008, they began recording for their first full-length record, entitled Rhythm, Chord & Melody and released through 111 Records on August 19, 2008.

On December 30, 2009, The Reign of Kindo put out the first YouTube video of the band performing the song "Just Wait." It became an immediate hit an within the first 24 hour period it was one of the most highly rated and commented on videos on Youtube.

On April 28, 2010, the band officially confirmed their second LP titled "This Is What Happens". It was released through Candyrat Records on August 3, 2010 and found a worldwide following.

The band has since played sold out concerts in the U.S., Japan, and Brazil. In 2013, The Reign of Kindo jump into crowd source funding on IndieGoGo to raise money for their new videos in support of their 3rd release “Play with Fire”. The campaigne was so successful; fans pledged over $10,000 within 48 hours, and as a result, the campainge was featured on the front page of the IndiGoGo website.

As each month passes, new fans find The Reign of Kindo and the buzz is reaching a fevor pitch. Kindo fans await the bands latest record, “Play with Fire” scheduled to be release worldwide on July 30th, followed by the release of six live session videos created with fan support.

The Reign of Kindo : EP

With this six song EP, simply titled The Reign Of Kindo, the band has perfected a new sound. A very jazzy, but cool sound that's pretty complex at times. The Reign Of Kindo EP is fantastic and really gets me excited about the future of the band. It's bands like The Reign Of Kindo that give me hope for the future of music. - Nathan Lint - Absolute Punk
