Hailing from Prince Edward Island, on Canada s East Coast, 25 year-old Brooke Miller's brand of songwriting can best be described as timeless. Harkening back to a sound once associated with the California Laurel Canyon Movement of the early 70's (by artists such as Joni Mitchell and Crosby Stills & Nash) along with American singer-songwriters such as Carole King, Phoebe Snow and Maria Muldaur, Brooke's soothing voice bathes the listener in warmth and honey-like sweetness, while her lyrics paint vivid pictures of her life and experiences. A compelling guitarist as well, Brooke's style of acoustic playing is clear and strong, a perfect harmonic compliment to her tone.
Her debut album was produced by renowned guitarist Don Ross and Peter Lubin and mixed by Frank Filipetti (James Taylor, Carly Simon) and mastered by Jeff Lipton (Wilco, Soul Asylum, Roky Erickson). Brooke Miller is a woman of substance and intelligence that belies her youth, with a musical message that is universal and defies categorization.

Brooke Miller produced & played most of the instruments on "Shake it Off", her third release. “....Miller's vocals serve the melody and the lyrics with a modesty that lets them shine. But don't underestimate her voice & undeniable guitar skills. When Miller sings, it has the same effect as someone looking you straight in the eye. You believe her. “- Jim Farber NYC Daily News

It's difficult to keep things really simple sometimes. To leave spaces & breaths between the words & phrases. But when it comes together well, it just fits your hands. A warm leather glove. You take it slow. That's what this song did for me.
