The four-track offering represents a time of progression and moving forward for the London-based artist. The introductory title track eases us in with abstract, minimal textures, and the subsequent brooding tones of Loops and Limbo Lullaby explore feelings of uncertainty before progressing into the assured grooves and soaring melodies of the concluding finale: Cartoon Hero, a colourful and nostalgic epic.
Whist Turning Tide echoes the distinctive organic style of Radial Nerve, the use of synthesisers and electric guitars gives the EP its own signature sound. As a transition between the brooding minimalism of Level Five Stage One and the lighter hearted roots of Radial Nerve, Turning Tide perhaps gives us a taste of what’s to come!
