Out of the Silent Nest is Steven Padin's debut solo recording. Most well known as the drummer for the band "The Reign of Kindo" and prior to that in the band "This Day and Age", Steven Padin shows his talents don't stop at top level drumming and percussion. On Out of the Silent Nest, Padin plays most of the instruments and carries all of the song writing duties on a debut that is diverse and accessible at the same time.
Some of Padin's influences are Pat Metheny, Lyle Mays, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Ruben Blades, Hiromi Uehara, Michael Jackson, Willie Colon, Antonio Sanchez, Dave Brubeck, and Nobuo Uematsu.
An acoustic guitar-driven collection of mostly very personal material, the album was originally intended as a simple bucket-list sort of project. Now released on Candyrat Records, it is yet another example of the mentality of honest musical exploration that The Reign of Kindo and it's members are growing a reputation for.
