Eva Atmatzidou is an acoustic guitar player, composer, and songwriter from Greece. She has studied classical guitar, harmony, and counterpoint. Eva has also attended contemporary improvisation lessons, played the mandolin and the traditional, Greek instrument called bouzouki -- learning idioms of her birth country’s music -- and collaborated with many Greek artists throughout the years
Combining very different musical experiences, Eva has developed a hybrid fingerstyle-picking technique on the guitar that gives her great flexibility in the way she can approach different styles of music in her compositions.
As a songwriter, she published her first album in 2010, including 11 of her songs (greek lyrics and fully orchestrated). She wrote her first solo acoustic guitar composition called “Rondat” in 2013. The piece was featured in the Fingerstyle 360 guitar magazine. Her debut solo acoustic guitar album Trenova, released by Candyrat Records, includes eight compositions. It is the result of a three year experimental period, when very different music idioms and influences met each other on her guitar fingerboard.
