Detroit, Michigan. Rock City. It’s a perennial hotbed for the coolest new offerings in gritty, loud music. Detroit is home to guitarist Sammy Boller. Having already attained the lauded status of a six-string Motor City hero, Sammy catapulted onto the national radar in 2012 when he was selected by Joe Satriani as a winner in Guitar Center’s “Master Satriani” competition.
In May of 2016, Sammy and his band, Citizen Zero, signed with Wind-up Records/Concord Music Group. The band's first full-length LP ("State of Mind") received critical acclaim and garnered multiple radio singles, which peaked in the Top 15 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart.
Boller is also a contributing columnist for Guitar World Magazine. His online column ("Secrets of Shred With Sammy Boller") has a loyal monthly following, regularly racking up view counts in the tens of thousands.
In late 2019, Sammy recorded his debut instrumental record at Rustbelt Studios in Detroit. Mixed by David Bendeth, the record features songs "Kingdom of the Sun", "Cloak Of Light", and "Awakening From The Daydream." "I grew up wanting to be Eddie Van Halen and Randy Rhoads, but over time I've found my own dark and aggressive style. These days, my dream as a musician is to make people feel as connected to the cosmos as I feel when I play the guitar.
Sammy is a generational guitar player. His guitar playing takes us on a trip back to the roots of guitar and then kicks us into the future seamlessly.Rick Smith - Wild Justice Artist Management
